9:00 a.m. - Foundations students learn the business planning process while building business skills and reducing their fears of self-employment. They study the development of a mission statement, estimate start-up and overhead costs, and learn about profit goal setting, cash flow, marketing, licensing, and record keeping. Throughout the course, participants also learn about personal finance management, the requirements of entrepreneurship, and receive direct, supportive feedback on their business plan. Instructors act more as facilitators than teachers, use intentional “low-tech” presentations, and encourage small group activities.
This is an eight week course meeting once a week from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. You must register in advance for this class.
* All SBA funded programs are extended to the public on a nondiscriminatory basis. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made of requested two weeks in advance. Contact the staff member listed with said event to request accommodations.
