Who We Serve
Mountain BizWorks promotes economic self-sufficiency for all women in Western NC through entrepreneurship. We serve all women who have a desire to start and successfully run a small business, especially women who face barriers to business ownership such as low-income status, language barriers, low educational attainment, and low socio-economic achievement.
What We Do
We provide substantive, results-oriented business development services:
- We ensure that all loans submitted by women business owners to Mountain BizWorks are given full consideration and that other recommendations for financing are made if the loan is not approved.
- We provide information to woman-owned small businesses (WOSB) and economically disadvantaged WOSBs on how to contract with the federal government as a certified Small Business Administration WOSB.
- We provide services to women entrepreneurs in the 12 western-most counties of NC through three office locations: Asheville, Hendersonville and Sylva.
