Foothills Launch expanding local biz in the Isothermal Region

Mountain BizWorks Pop-Up in Shelby for April and May 2019

We’re holding Foothills Launch “pop-up” offices in each of the Isothermal counties. The first pop-up was held in Rutherfordton from January-February. Thank you to our gracious host partner, the Town of Rutherfordton for helping to make it such a success. We held a dynamic Foundations business planning course and made startup or expansion loans to several local businesses.

Our next stop is Shelby in Cleveland County where we’ll be open Wednesdays and Thursdays for the months of April and May (address: 203 S. Washington St.). Here are some of the activities planned to take place in the pop-up:

  • Foundations Business Planning Course: our flagship business planning course will be held at the Cleveland County pop-up office starting April 9. This course is usually $375, but through the Foothills Launch initiative it is only $75! We’re excited that this course will be led by Shelby’s own Madison Webber (owner of J-Bird’s). Get full details and sign up here.
  • Open Office Hours: use our easy scheduling tool to book a free consultation with one of our lenders or program specialists. We look forward to learning more about your business goals and how Mountain BizWorks may be of assistance.

About the Foothills Launch Initiative

FOOTHILLS LAUNCH! Expanding Small Business Access to Capital in the Isothermal Region is a collaborative project between Isothermal Planning and Development Commission (IPDC) and Mountain BizWorks to increase CDFI small business lending and entrepreneurial training in the Isothermal Region (Cleveland, McDowell, Polk, and Rutherford counties). With support from a USDA Rural Development grant, we’re very pleased to be able to increase our work with Isothermal area entrepreneurs and partners.
