Foothills Launch an initiative in the Isothermal Region

FOOTHILLS LAUNCH! Expanding Small Business Access to Capital in the Isothermal Region is a collaborative project between Isothermal Planning and Development Commission (IPDC) and Mountain BizWorks to increase CDFI small business lending and entrepreneurial training in the Isothermal Region (Cleveland, McDowell, Polk, and Rutherford counties). With support from a USDA Rural Development grant, we’re very pleased to be able to increase our work with Isothermal area entrepreneurs and partners.

Mountain BizWorks Pop-Up Office Offerings

Through this initiative, we’ll be holding two-month long “pop-up” residency offices in each of the Isothermal counties. Our first office was held in downtown Rutherfordton from January to the end of February, thanks to our gracious host partner, the Town of Rutherfordton. Our next office will be held in Clevland County, from April 1-March 31. Here are some of the activities planned to take place in the pop-ups:

  • Open Office Hours: use our easy scheduling tool to book 30 minutes or 1 hour (you choose) with a Mountain BizWorks lender or learning program specialist.
  • Cooperatives 101 Workshop: Learn different ways you can democratize your workplace to help engage and retain your employees.
  • Information Sessions: Learn about the different classes and lending services that will be offered in your community
  • Foundations Business Planning Course: our flagship business planning course will be held at the Clevland County pop-up office starting April 9. Details and sign up here.
