The following 15 growth-oriented small businesses will receive intensive training, one-on-one management support, assistance in connecting with growth capital, and the opportunity to strengthen connections in order to scale up their ventures:
Active Strategies promotes vibrant active communities and organizations by helping them harness the catalytic power of outdoor recreation. Their job is to invigorate the crucial and unique connections between a space, the people, and the economy through measurable outdoor recreation strategies. With a process heavily based in research and outreach, their strategies integrate into existing structures to provide the spark needed for a community or organization to find lasting and impactful growth.
Archetype Brewing creates complex, mindful, living beer that challenges the status quo of craft beer. Based in Asheville, Archetype has been brewing American and Belgian inspired ales since 2017.
Climbmax Climbing is the leading provider of indoor climbing and rock-climbing education and instruction in WNC. Now entering their 25th year of operation, they are proud to be able to participate in the 2019 WNC Scale Up program allowing them to gain new knowledge about operations and to help them remain vibrant and competitive as they enhance their services for customers and the community.
CoreSelf creates monthly sets of Classical Pilates workout videos which align to the seasonal energetics of Chinese Medicine. The CoreSelf content supports subscribers as they safely connect to their deepest core strength, cultivate awareness of how their body relates to the seasons, and integrate newfound strength into their lives “off the mat,” whatever their life stage and athletic performance goals.
Dig Local was born at a Startup Weekend competition at AB-Tech in Asheville, NC. Winning first place catapulted the app into reality and onto over 100,000 mobile devices in just 5 years. The Dig Local app is a dynamic digital hub for local authentic places and happenings in the Asheville area. Now referred to as Asheville’s App, visitors and locals use it to find where to go and what to do every day. The app features over 300 local businesses (no franchises) and allows them to get the word out and level the playing field in today’s crowded digital marketplace.
