The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the first four geographies designated for low-interest disaster relief loans to help businesses suffering substantial economic injury as a result of COVID-19. North Carolina’s Governor has submitted the required request to ensure our state’s small businesses are also eligible for these loans.

Beginning Monday, March 16, and continuing for a minimum of two weeks, business coaching sessions will not be permitted at Mountain BizWorks offices. Virtual coaching sessions using Google Hangouts, Zoom, GoTo Meeting, or other technologies will remain available. You can request coaching by filling out our online form.

Yesterday, the Small Business Administration announced that it will provide up to $2 million in disaster assistance loans to small businesses impacted by the coronavirus. Read the press release and review the process for accessing SBA’s disaster relief lending.

Currently, there are no reported cases nor evidence of community spread in our region, so all of our offices remain open. However, out of an abundance of caution, we are transitioning all group classes to online-only participation for the next two weeks, starting Monday, March 16. We have also decided to postpone a few of our larger public workshops and events.
