Coaching Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in being a Mountain BizWorks coach!

This program aims to provide small business owners with access to seasoned current or recent business owners who wish to share their experiences and expertise to assist local entrepreneurs with achieving their goals. Mountain BizWorks primarily serves BIPOC, rural, and low-to-moderate income entrepreneurs across 26 counties in Western North Carolina. The coaching network supports our clients through education, offering possible solutions, feedback, and formulating action steps to become business ready/thrive in our local economy.

Please consider the following prior to submitting your interest in joining our team:

  • Processing times for “Coach interest forms” will vary depending on the time of the year in which you submit your application.
  • We interview potential coaches twice a year through a structured process where you'd be asked to attend 1 Coaching Program Info Session, followed by an internal review/ selection process. This occurs in February and July. Individuals completing forms after July will be invited to attend our February Info Session. Orientation details will be emailed upon completion of this form.
  • The coach would need to feel comfortable working with clients that are actively pursuing or have received a loan with Mountain BizWorks. This includes coordination with our lending department to better help the client toward being Loan and Business ready. (Not all coaching clients will be related to a loan)
  • Be mindful of your availability as you would be required to dedicate time to projects outside of coaching hours. (Session scheduling, preparation, document review, session reporting) Coaching and related activities are compensated at a rate of $45 an hour. Non coaching related work is paid at a different rate, read below. Alternate rates or situations will be communicated in advance.
  • Coaches are expected to manage their own calendar when it comes to scheduling and performing within their duties as contractors.
  • Coaches are ambassadors of Mountain BizWorks, and as such they are expected to represent the organization and follow policies and procedures.
  • Coaches will be provided training opportunities, some of which will be required to be part of the contractor network. This training time is paid at a rate of $20 an hour. For example, we hold an annual Contractor Convening where we gather to mingle, share updates, and important training components for the team.
