Request a scholarship within the online registration form if you live in a rural WNC location, have a low-to-moderate income, or are an agricultural business. You may qualify for a partial scholarship (discounted rate is up to 80% off for qualifying individuals).

Each class offering has a limited number of scholarships and they are available on a first come, first served basis.

Class will meet every Tuesday, February 12th – 26th5:30 – 8:30pm 

What is covered:

Financial Tools – Financial Tools will introduce you to the tools to understand the basics of business finance so you can make informed decisions on how to organize and manage your business finances. Topics discussed are record keeping; bookkeeping; accounting; creating, understanding and using financial statements and reports. 

Accounting Software – this class uses the accounting platform Quickbooks to provide an overview of accounting software, the different subscription levels, and will teach you how to navigate the dashboard and explore the reporting feature to generate reports that can be customized to your needs. When you complete this class, you’ll know the best ways to get around, enter day-to-day transactions, get the information you need out of accounting software, and powerful report tools that’ll help your business make good decisions.

Audra Gaiziunas is the remote CFO of Crooked Stave (a brewery in Denver CO) and the owner of Brewed For Her Ledger here in Asheville. She has extensive experience in accounting and finance with not-for-profits, small businesses, manufacturers (specifically craft beverage), and retail. Over the past 15 years she has worked with 300+ breweries/restaurants/bottle shops and serves as an accounting and financing instructor for the University of Vermont. Teaching small business owners financial literacy is her passion. She holds degrees in accounting & business management as well as an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill.
