Invested Course: An Investment Crowdfunding Learning Journey

Last year, the State of North Carolina passed new legislation making it possible to take on non-accredited investors for your small business. This allows for you to raise funds from your friends, family, and broader community and offer them a stake in, or return on, the success that they are helping you to build. Mountain BizWorks is excited to be launching its second cohort of small businesses in the New Year who are interested in pursuing this opportunity for raising capital and brand awareness. Details on this course follow:

Invested: An Investment Crowdfunding Learning Journey will assist a small cohort of interested business owners who are currently experiencing growth opportunities in preparing for, designing, and launching an investment crowdfunding campaign. The full course will entail 5 3-hour sessions starting Thursday, January 31st and running through March 28th (meeting every other week on Thursdays). The course will conclude with an investment crowdfunding pitch event and celebration.

Session Dates:
Session 1: Story 1 – Thurs Jan 31, 2-5pm
Session 2: Numbers 1 – Wed Feb 14, 2-5pm
Session 3: Story 2 – Thurs Feb 28, 2-5pm
Session 4: Numbers 2 – Thurs Mar 14, 2-5pm
Session 5: Integrating – Thurs Mar 28, 2-5pm

Cost: $45 per participant for the entire 5 session course

Before applying to be a member of this learning cohort, we invite you to join us for an Intro to Investment Crowdfunding Workshop with attorney Jake Farrar and our lead facilitators Annie Milroy Price and Jeffrey Scott. The intro session will be January 17th from 3-5pm at Mountain BizWorks.
