For Essential Business Suppliers

NC Emergency Management has implemented a new process to evaluate businesses and allow them to continue operations IF a shelter-in-place order should be issued.

This is not to say that a shelter in place order is imminent. This is a precautionary measure to allow a business to become a designated ESSENTIAL BUSINESS SUPPLIER. These businesses would be allowed to continue operations if a shelter-in-place order is issued.

To begin the application process, send an email to and include the following information:

  1. Business name

  2. Point of contact

    • Name
    • Email address
    • Phone number
    • Mailing address
  1. Nature of the business and why it is critical to continue operations

  2. Business web address

Please be aware that this is a new process and the Business Emergency Operations Center is experiencing a high volume of requests, so a response could be delayed.
