Welcome to our Intro to Invested class! This two hour session will review the Invested 5-week course, what is covered, and who should participate. We’ll dive into the essentials of acquiring capital for your small business ventures.   •  We’ll start by defining what small business capital is and why it’s essential for the growth and sustainability of your business.
  •  We will review the various types of capital from debt, equity, working capital, and grants funding.
  •  We’ll cover the pros and cons of each type of capital and determine which option best aligns with your business goals and financial needs.

Sources of Funding

  • Explore the various sources of funding available to small businesses, including traditional banks, CDFIs, online lenders, venture capitalists, angel investors, crowdfunding platforms, friends & family, retained earnings, and government grants.
  • Evaluate the pros and cons of each funding source and determine which option best aligns with your business goals and financial needs.

Preparing for Funding

  • Discover the key elements investors and lenders look for when considering funding opportunities, such as a solid business concept, market research, financial projections, and a well-defined growth strategy.
  • Learn the components of a compelling pitch/proposal to effectively communicate your business idea and attract investor or debt funding.
